The younger generation in the Cuban municipality of Mayari got together in the rural settlement of Cabonico, in Holguin province, to remember the martyrs of the Corynthia expedition, in a national commemoration of the sad event. In the place rises a monument in the memory of the 16 revolutionary combatants assassinated by Fulgencio Batista’s troops on the 28 of May, 1957.
