With the call to increase the manufacture of materials and provide a response to the needs of comfortable housing for families, developed the tour of the National Group for Local Production of Construction Materials by the municipality of Calixto Garcia.
The visit included the facilities of the Umbrales Business Unit, where machines work to make concrete blocks of different dimensions, stone dust, artificial sand through the collection of stones from paddocks and other basic lines used in the construction of houses.
Maribel Balmaceda Ponce was in charge of the visit to the town. She toured departments of the store for the sale of materials in Buenaventura and was interested in the availability of the assortments and the exposure to the public of the prices to facilitate marketing.
In addition, Balmaceda Ponce, with 24 years of work, shared with the calixteños their experiences in the production of materials when staying several hours in this part of the holguinero territory: "We have known of the initiative and creativity to produce under any circumstance, experiences that contribute to the quality of life of hundreds of people welcomed to the different programs of the housing".
For his part, Julio César Chacón Rodríguez, vice-president of the Board of Directors in the locality, pointed out: "We lack a lot in the local production of materials, but we are making progress despite the difficulties with some resources such as cement and aggregates".
The small industry for the local production of materials in the municipality of Calixto Garcia reached the XIII tour of the national group, with the contribution of more than two thousand square meters of mosaic for floor, an element of housing never before manufactured in a state way in the holguinero west.
