The traditional Mayabe agricultural fair will be held in Holguin city from the 25th thru the 29th of December, with a comprehensive program of recreational and cultural activities including exhibitions and the sale of agricultural, commercial and gastronomic products for the participants’ enjoyment.
The event is dedicated to the 61st anniversary of the Revolution triumph in Cuba, and its organizers work to meet the expectations of different age groups that will meet at Mayabe Fairgrounds, in the outskirts of Holguín city.
Leyla Ravelo Fombellida, sub-delegate of Livestock in the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture (Minag) in Holguín, mentioned the program starts on the 25th with a horse ride downtown, then the official opening will take place at 10a.m at Mayabe Fairgrounds.
The activities will be carried out from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; besides, there will be two daily rodeo competition programs, one in the morning and the other one in the afternoon.
On Sunday, it is planned a giant agricultural fair with varied offers available to those attending the traditional stands located in Los Chinos fairgrounds, including the neighborhoods "Emilio Barcenas", "Pedro Diaz Coello" and "Alcides Pino".
Transportation service will be reinforced in order to facilitate the commuting of attendees from the city to the Mayabe Fairgrounds; moreover, there will be special offers such as the roast of 61 pigs, one for each year of the anniversary of the Cuban Revolution triumph.
